2. The Labeled Rules at a Glance
Each GLP-1 medication defines its own window for a missed dose. If you are inside the window, the label says you can take the missed dose and carry on; if you are past it, the label says to skip it. You should never take two doses to catch up.

For tirzepatide (Mounjaro and Zepbound), the label adds that you should not inject two doses within 3 days of each other. Wegovy's rule is written the other way round from the others: it counts forward to the next dose rather than back from the missed one, which for a once-weekly schedule means less than 5 days late: at exactly 5 days the next dose is 2 days away, which fails the label's more-than-2-days condition, so the tool says skip.

3. When to Contact Your Prescriber
- You have missed several weeks in a row. You may need to restart at a lower dose and titrate up again.
- You are not sure which brand or schedule you are on.
- You take other medications, such as insulin or a sulfonylurea, where timing matters more.
- You feel unwell after a missed or doubled dose.
The tool reflects general label instructions. It cannot see your history, so anything beyond a single missed dose is a conversation for your prescriber or pharmacist.

What should I do if I miss a weekly GLP-1 dose?
Each label defines a window. Ozempic can be taken within 5 days of the missed dose; Wegovy injection as long as the next scheduled dose is still more than 2 days (48 hours) away, which on a weekly schedule means less than 5 days late; Mounjaro and Zepbound within 4 days. If more time than the window has passed, the label says to skip the missed dose and take the next one on your regular day. Never take two doses to catch up.
Does this tool give medical advice?

Why can't I just take the missed dose whenever I remember?
Taking a missed dose too close to the next scheduled dose can stack the medication and increase side effects. That is why each label sets a cutoff: take the missed dose only if enough time remains before the next one, otherwise skip it. For tirzepatide, the label also says not to inject two doses within 3 days of each other.
What if I have missed several weeks of doses?
Contact your prescriber. After an extended gap, some people need to restart at a lower dose and titrate up again to rebuild tolerability rather than resuming at their previous dose. This is a clinical decision, not something a tool can determine.
What about a missed dose of daily oral Rybelsus?
For Rybelsus, the label says to skip the missed dose entirely and take the next dose the following day at the normal time. Do not take two tablets on the same day to make up for a missed one.
